Adazi Secondary School is an institution of general education established by Municipality of Adazi. It
accomplishes curriculum of general elementary and secondary education. A This school year there
are almost 1260 students and 110 teachers. Adazi - it is a little town next to the Latvian capital city
Riga. School facilities include a stadium, outdoor basketball and beach volleyball courts, a skate
park, a gym and a swimming pool. Our students are motivated and creative. We offer many activities:
choir, folk dance group “Rūta”, theatre group, debate club "Little Europeans" . The participation in
different European projects is one of our school brands, too. Adazi Secondary School prepares its
students not only for final examinations but also for admission to higher education institutions. The
school graduates receive state certificates. In this regard Adazi secondary school is no different from
other schools. Cooperation with our partners from different European countries is very important for
our school. It is a wonderful opportunity to build up new contacts, meet new friends, share good
experiences and practices, develop and improve new teaching methods and tactics, check the
quality of education in our school and country comparing it with the results and approaches of
different European schools, get to know unique educational systems, give our students and teachers
a chance to visit interesting places and see the world and the people across EU, improve and
practice their skills through communicating and working with international partners, learn and
develop their new skills, challenge them to set their goals high and then go for it, widen their outlook
and experience of life, make them a meaningful part of a EU society. We have an organization of our
students named as "A Little Europeans' Club" - they organize a lot of different events in our school, as
well as almost every year the go to Strasbourg (France) and take part in a lot of debates in the
European parliament. As Confucius said: - I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I
understand. Our School has never taken part in the projects related to art and this is why it is
important for us to be part of this project. This will be a new challenge for us. Communication is the
key to success. It is better to meet one time and find out a solution than see it on the Internet and then
forget. Students need to dream big, challenge themselves and remember that the longest journey
begins with a single step. In brief, the experience that our team has in the implementation of
European project will result very useful for this project. The team (including management stuff,
teachers of English, Literature and Arts) will get their experience in these fields, gained throughout
the classes and the non-formal activities, sharing their best practice and contributing with their
knowledge and skills for a successful implementation of the project.
